The Catechism in Lent
How many times have you resolved to study the Catechism of the Catholic Church?
So you pull out your copy, and start reading, that's the best way. You don't want a guide, because then you're reading the guide and studying that author, not the Catechism. What next?
Well, for a while it works, because the Catechism is clear enough, but pretty soon all the words start running together. You're lost, and you don't know where you got lost. Those long paragraphs...
The Catechism in Lent is for the person who wants to read the Catechism itself, starting this Lent. It is simply a collection of questions, paragraph by paragraph, on sections of the catechism devoted to sin and the suffering of Jesus, Lenten themes. The questions are labeled for the relevant paragraph in the Catechism. Many of the questions have their answers directly in the paragraph itself. Several are more reflective or point to other paragraphs. A few are intended to spark long thoughts or a discussion.
The facing pages (the left hand pages) have space for you to write your thoughts.
That's all. No answer key. It's not about my thoughts, but the Thought of the Church. It may take you two Lents to finish.
